“I wanted to thank you for recommending Chef Shawn of Gatherings Catering for our recent trip to Emerald Isle to celebrate my in-laws 40th Anniversary. From the moment I spoke to him on the phone his passion for food and the joy he gets from creating a personalized menu came across immediately. The man made me excited about squash; that says a lot! We have some picky eaters in our group of fifteen and he was able to create dishes for them that they loved while also preparing fresh seafood dishes for the foodies.
Shawn was the perfect balance of personable and professional. As a cooking enthusiast, it was great to watch him cook and learn some techniques. It’s amazing what ingredients in the right hands can turn into. I’m still savoring the tiramisu he made for desert.
He was reliable, calling and emailing several times in the days before our celebration dinner, and he was on time and the food was served at the time he said it would be. And, not a dirty dish was left in the kitchen. My in-laws and the family loved the experience and the dinner was delicious. I think he may have inspired my 16 year-old niece to start cooking. I wish I could find a Chef Shawn in Los Angeles. Hopefully we’ll be back to Emerald Isle and we can have him create another delicious meal.
